How can make-up brushes be cleaned?

Cleaning your brushes:

1. Put a small amount of facial cleanser in the palm of your hand.

2. Wet the brush bristles with warm water.

3. Swirl the brush bristles in your palm, working the cleanser into the bristles.

4. Rinse the brush with warm water.

5. Repeat the 4 steps above until all makeup is out of the brush. (The rinse water will run clear when the makeup is out.)

6. Gently squeeze out excess water with a clean towel or paper towel.

7. Reshape the bristles and lay the brush flat on a clean towel or paper towels until dry.

You should clean your brushes a least once a week. Your makeup brushes pick up oils and bacteria with use. If you are using quality brushes and cleaning them on a regular basis, they will last a very long time.

Make sure to use a gentle, facial cleanser to wash your brushes with.

If you have cheap brushes they make fall apart or not do as well being washed. It is wise to invest a little bit in your makeup brushes. This does not mean you have to buy the real expensive brushes, but you need to spend a little bit though. You want to find a brush that is soft and does not shed. I have listed a couple of sites under sources that may help you. Makeup brushes should last you years with proper care and cleaning. How can make-up brushes be cleaned?
you can clean you make up brushes by putting them in warm soapy water. then get soap, washing up liquid, washing machine powder and rub gently through the bristles and leave for 1 minute then rinse with warm water and leave to dry. i hope that can help. if not then ask a friend or go to your local cosmetic shop. xx

Make-up brushes need to be cleaned just the way hairbrushes need to be cleaned. Or they will provide a breeding ground for bacteria. Soak the brushes in tepid water for a few minutes. Then use baby shampoo to gently wash them. Rinse off with tepid water. Air-dry them thoroughly. Dip them into alcohol to sterilise them.
or you could just use milk..

put the brush in low fat milk for an hour nad rinse off.

then the brush will continue being smooth and clean.

if very dirty use some light soap but use milk to get the brush silky

ush you can use it ok.
you can immediately blot them on a kleenex. regularly you should soak them in brush cleaner that could be bought in beauty supply stores and professional makeup brands. if you dont have brush cleaner tap off excess and blot on kleenex. dampen each brush and shampoo with gentle baby shampoo. rinse well and condition with hair conditioner. what i do to restore them to original shape is plunge the bigger brushes in a large bowl of water. let them air dry. hot water can loosen the strands and bristles of your brushes. to prepare for thorough cleaning just soak a while in room temperature water. once youve shamppoed the brushes youll see all the product coming out and the color of the suds change. to make sure that its rinsed well dunk them in a bowl of water and if there still are suds then rinse again. dont alcohol them either, alcohol will dry the bristles up. you can use a sterilzer box like the ones at the salon to finish up. if you have a clothes steamer you can also do this before washing them so that the dirt and bacteria can loosen up.
